This evening, I set up my new laser printer. My previous printer was a inkjet, and, although it's still working, it's seven years old, and inkjet supplies are more expensive than laser supplies. The installation went well, without any problems except one. The overhead light dimmed as soon as I turned the printer on. How much power is this thing drawing, anyway? Or is the problem the light, which is part of a ceiling fan? The last time a light bulb went out, it happened just as my a/c was coming on, and I wondered at the time if there was a connection. And speaking of a/c, it's almost midnight, so I should probably turn it off. The unit is outside, and my neighbors' bedroom window is close to it. It wouldn't matter so much if they had a/c, but they don't, so they sleep with the window open. It only seems polite to shut the a/c off at a reasonable hour.
